Man Plans, God Laughs

This article was originally generated and published on January 3rd, 2020, in Pentecost Fire, before I even knew COVID-19 would happen. I really wanted to share it with you all, the original that is. I will speak more to this post in the next blog!

“You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” ‭‭- Proverbs‬ ‭19:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God dropped this into my spirit and I want to share this with you. For the New Year, it’s not about resolutions, NOPE.

 res·o·lu·tion
/ˌrezəˈlo͞oSH(ə)n/
noun
noun: resolution; plural noun: resolutions
1. a firm decision to do or not to do something.

It’s about yielding to God’s will and plan for your life, praying about all the things you have set for the new year & waiting for Christ to decide what he wants to do. It’s about asking God what he wants you to embark on this year. For many of us, it may be health, for many of us, it may be reading and digesting the word more. For others, it might be our attitudes. But let God dictate that, not you.

For too long, we have set these resolutions and some of us (with full force) have set out to accomplish them. I am not saying it’s bad. But for many of us, it has been delaying the course of action, blessings and plans that God has for us.

SO… in 2020, let’s change things. 2020 is about trust, faith and (the hardest part), PATIENCE. We have to be able to wait for things to come to fruition. Whether it’s takes a day, months, or years. Don’t give up, pray until it happens, just like Daniel did. (Daniel 10:2-3).

Say this simple prayer, everyday this year, and let’s see what God will do in your life. ‘God, my life is in your hands, and your word says you have plans to prosper my life (Jer. 29:11). Sovereign Lord, do what you want, take control, help me to make goals and plans that align with your will and your blessings. Take my life and let it be a testament to your glory this year. Give me strength to endure and guide my steps. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
